Credits
AI features in post.buzz — caption generation, image generation, vision descriptions, content analysis, chat, transcription — run against a shared inference backend and are metered through the credits system.
How credits work
- Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation.
- Every AI action consumes credits proportional to its cost (image generation costs more than a short caption, for example).
- When your monthly allocation runs out, you can top up with a credit pack.
- A per-day AI actions fair-use cap sits on top of credits to prevent abuse, regardless of how many credits you hold.
Credit packs
Credit packs are one-time purchases (billed via Stripe) that add credits to your balance on top of your plan allocation. They're useful when you have a burst of AI work — a big content push, a batch of image generations — that exceeds your monthly allocation.
Purchased credits land in your balance immediately after the payment is confirmed by the Stripe webhook.
Where credits apply
| Feature | Consumes credits? |
|---|---|
| Chat assistant | ✅ |
| Caption generation | ✅ |
| Image generation (FLUX) | ✅ |
| Vision descriptions | ✅ |
| Whisper transcription | ✅ |
| Content / performance analysis | ✅ |
| Profile optimization | ✅ |
| Agent runs (draft, schedule, engage) | ✅ |
| Publishing / scheduling (non-AI) | ➖ |
Plain publishing and scheduling don't consume credits — only the AI-powered parts do.
Usage tracking
Your daily AI usage is tracked (ai_usage_daily) so you can see how close you
are to the daily cap and where credits are going. Check your usage in billing
settings before a big AI push to avoid surprises.
